Thank you Goldie for many years of milk and friendship.  You taught so many campers the meaning of mammal and kindness.

Donna Jean's Super Bowl chair

Donna Jean Dreyer at Tybee Island, GA, in the large, motorized recliner (with lighted cup holders!!) that we rented so that she can sleep with her broken shoulder. She had only been there for a few days when she had a little accident that resulted in a broken toe and a fracture at the top of her left humerus. It turns out that, along with the many things that are hard or impossible with one arm in a sling, you can't sleep lying down when you have a broken shoulder. She's doing pretty well and getting lots of help. You can read the whole story on her blog. She'll need a bucket of wings and some tall boys to go with this chair on Super Bowl Sunday (or she would if she liked football, wings, and tall boys).

Bob Barrus Turns 95

Bob Barrus celebrated his 95th time around the sun this Saturday with a party at the Celo Community Center.  His kindness and spirit outshone the many candles that bedecked his cake.  Though it was a delicious cake, it could never match the sweetness of the man.

It's another new year again

If it's New Year's Day, then it must be the Dreams Die Hard Diner over at the AMS dining room. It was a great morning despite one of the regular short-order cooks being in Canada and the other cook plus a waitress laid low with stomach flu.

Miles and Jeff stepped up to the griddles and made eggs, spuds, sausage, and bacon for the masses (170 breakfasts were served).

Evan the waffle man.

The dishwashing crew washed without ceasing. And Lucia was our indefatigable waitress.

Breakfast was accompanied by many conversations.

Food service professionals showed up.

The entire House family pitched in.
