ice on Ohle's pond

It was 12 degrees at our house this morning, but still the pond wasn't quite frozen enough to ice skate. I went out a little ways to get this , then I heard big cracking that sounded like BOING. There was blue gill swimming under the ice, but he (or she) swam away to deeper and more dangerous territory before I could make a picture.
