Bowling ball pendulums, again

Many of you probably remember Jeff's pendulum wave project from this winter. If not, you can catch up here. The first version was a temporary construction behind the soccer field, but this summer Jeff made a permanent installation at his house. A few people got together to help him set it up.

Here's Polly attaching the bowling balls.

Here's the finished project in action. After it was set up, Jeff had the idea of putting little clappers on the bottom of each bowling ball and then putting a pot or a vase or a piece of metal or something that makes a sound when struck underneath each ball. So now when you release pendulums you get a little percussion piece that changes as the pendulum wave goes through its cycle.

If you need a bowling ball for oiled lanes, then Motiv Golden Jackal Bowling Ball is the best one. These balls have a strong grip and can even slightly curve at less oily conditions. Check this site for more information.
