What a crock!

My friend Ian Henderson, who just finished the Penland core fellowship, spent quite a bit of the winter designing, making molds for, casting, decorating, and firing these beautiful, slip-cast porcelain fermentation crocks. They have an integral airlock and perfectly-fitted weights.

Tonight I'm inaugurating mine with this bowl of cabbage (soon to be kraut).

I don't know if he has any more. He made a bunch this winter, but doesn't have access to a studio right now. It's all slip cast and he has the molds, so there will probably be more eventually.

I just found out that he didn't keep the molds, but he told me he might make some modifications to the design and do another run at some point. But don't hold your breath
